was Jammed Saturday night for the
novel show. And the crowd loved

Hometown' talent wasn't 'Out
shone by the visitors. The Klam
ath Chorus, directed by Johnny
Houston and Benny Loftsgaard, did
. a splendid Job in two featured spots
A novelty number, with : Wilbur
miles portraying Ragtime Joe at
battered old upright piano, was
particularly enjoyable. .
It would be foolish to try and
' select the number one ! quartet.
The Medford Novelaires opened
the show in hangup style. Berke
ley's Uncalled Four rated several
encores as did Bly's House Broth-
fi.j.r&mento Statesmen, the
Travelalres from San Jose and the
ever-popular Lake Oswego Four.

Boh Perkins, as emcee, wowed
the audience with a specialty in
cluding his tamed "Blood on the
Saddle" stint.
It was a grand show snd a dis
tinct credit to the Klamath men
who put it together.
By way of making the evening
a complete success, Charles Bane,
president of the Klamath Barber
shoppers, announced the show had
raised SJ.SOO for Boy Scout, Ctrl
Scout and Camp Fire Qui camping

In Pasture
WEED A valuable animal
termed in racing parlance' a quar
ter horse' was severely injured
last Saturday night in the pasture
of the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Henry
M. Massini, of the Double M.
Ranch three miles south of Weed.
Toe 14 months old stallion had
Just been brought from Southern
California where it had been pur
chased through the manager of the
Shadow Valley breeding farm. It
was turned out In the small pasture
with the other horses on the ranch.
The ranch horses were familiar
with the pasture and turned at the
corner of the fence, when running,
but this horse failed to make the
turn and a barbed wire came with
in a fraction of severing the Jugu
lar vein in its neck. It also re

ALTURAS The Garden Club has
tackled a project of beautifying
Alturas Cemetery, according to
Pres. Madeline Banister.
The club plans to do extensive
landscaping and has purchased 100
spires, plants, shrub punting was
started today.
The women need help in the
shoveling department and hope to
i obtain labor from the sheriff's de
partment. Hot Mrs. Bsnister said
the women would man the shovels
themselves ft necessary.
The club needs more shrubs snd
seedlings and Mrs. Bsnister said
a plan was being explored where
by trees could be donated as memorials.
