Track holdings of potatoes at the
16 major markets ot the nation
today amounted to 1493 car. This
compares with 1216 cars on track
one week ago. Arrivals at the 16
major markets of the nation today
were reported at 1060 cars. This
compares with 1079 cars arriving
one week earlier.
Total shipments of potatoes
throughout the nation over the
weekend amounted to 1781 cars.

The USDA report of merchant
able potatoes In dealers and grow
ers hands was released today. It
shows a total of some 111 million

than was on hand a year earlier.
While potato stocks are larger than
year ago. they are about
smaller than the very large stocks
