At KUHS
By HAROLD McK AT
Miss Fish's social economics
classes took a personality test a
few days go. The students and
teachers alike . had a good tune
comparing the results.
The test was to fmd out such
things as: How well do you know
yourself? How neurotic are you?
Mow grown up are you? How
much do you guard your feelings?
and How temperamental are you?
In addition there was a section
that tried to find out what type
persons the students were. That Is.
we j the student an introvert fa
person that remained pretty well
within himself), an extrovert (one
who likes to associate with people .
or an ambivert (which is- Just in
between). '.
This test was- considered the
.most Important because It gave
the student some idea of what
kind of job be will do best in.
Experts say that a person who
wants to be alone will do badly
In a Job where he must b around
people all the time. By the same
reasoning a person that loves peo
ple would not last In a lob where
he Is alone much of the time. An
ambivert Is just In between but as
the students grow older they will
go one way or the other.
The money that the drama de
partment made from the play of
the Pilgrims, which was put on
yesterday, will be used to defray
the cost of presenting the annual
Christmas play this year. The play
was presented to 760 people dur
ing the dsy.
More information about the
Christmas play will be available in
the near future.

The Highway Interim Committee
of the Legislature proposed Thurs
dav to change the date of increased
weigm-mue trucx taxes from Jan.
I to NOV. 5. 1952.
The committee said it would ask
the new Legislature to make the
change. It said the Jan. 1 date
would work a hardship on truck
ers. The increased tax was voted by
the last Legislature, but was held
from goins into effect bv a refer-
enoum, wmcn put the measure on
the November ballot. The voters
upheld the measure at the polls.

Living Costs
Up Slightly
WASHINGTON W The govern
ment reported today that living
costs went up fractionally In the
30 days ended Oct. 15. Its index
inched up one-tenth of one paint.
The little change from Sept. 15
means that about one million work
ers in the automobile and aircraft
industries will take a pay cut of
on cent an hour effective Dec. 1
owing to living cost declines In
August and September.
A cost-of-living clause in their
union contract calls for a wage re
vision every three months based
on changes in index of the Bureau
of Labor Statistics.
It also means a cut of 85 quarter
ly In the cot of living bonus for
salaried workers of General
Motors.
The BLS reported Its Index on
Oct. 15 was 190. e. This compared
with 190.8 on Sept. 15.
(Average prices In the 1935-39
Period are used as a "base" of
100).
The Oct. 15 index was 19 per
cent higher than a year ago. and
12 2 per cent higher than June 15.
1950. Just before the outbreak of
the Korean War.
BLS reported that food and cloth.
Ing prices went down slightly In
the Sept. 15-Oct. 15 period but this
decrease was more than offset by
rises in costs of fuel, electricity,
rents, and miscellaneous goods and
services. .
