using fraudulent narcotic prescrip
tions.
Dr. Caldwell, 37-year-old World
War II Navy surgeon, told the
court yesterday he became ad
dicted to narcotics while using
them after an attack of pneumonia
last February. He .said he shook
the hsblt during vacation trip
to Wyoming last summer with his
wife.
The physician was accused of
writing seven prescriptions in the
names of patients and having
them filled for hia own use.
