girl, he frightened her and thus

Ingram's attorneys declined to
offer testimony In his defense, but
at an earlier hearing the defendant
denied he had criminal intentions,

and "looked like a boy" when he
attempted to Inquire ol her where
he could borrow a trailer.

rape. The charne was reduced to

Recorder's rourt. Alter he was con
victed nd sentenced to two years
on the roads, he appealed to the
Sfperior Court. The first Superior
Court trial. In November of last
year, enrted In a mistrial when
two of the four Negroes on the
Jury held out for acquittal.
