AT MERRILL

queen of the annual high school
carnival, by Danny Barry, student
body piesldent, to open the eve
ning's lestlvllles Isst Saturday eve
ning at the high school gym. Others
chosen to represent their classes
were Dorthea Freeman. 7th grade;

freshman class; Mary Lou Quail.-.,

Choice waa made on a ticket sell
ing basis.
A capacity crowd enjoyed the
various games and concessions
sponsored by esch of the grades;
one of the busiest waa the bingo
game, sponsored by the seniors;
another waa the FHA Olrls' cooked
food booth All funds will go to
ward purchasing needed equip
ment for the school.

to finish the quilt to be sold at
the annual bazaar and turkey din

A potluck dinner was served at

resentative from the Legislature,
at the Thursday meeting in the

the day. and discussed the legis
lative measures on the ballot.
Qualified bv experience in the leg
islature he gave much information
about the background of several
of the amendments.
A letter was read by President
Isabelle Brtxner from the County
Health Association thanking the
elub for helping to make the X
ray survey successful and inviting
the club members to attend their
open boose Friday, Oct. 31.
Klamath Falls is becoming
known as quite an Art Center.
Catherine Brumbaugh has been in
vited to exhibit her pictures at
the Oregon College of Education
at Monmouth during National Art
Week. Helen Balentine and Lor
raine Johnson will have their
sketches of scenery around Crater
Lake on display at the local Art
Center In recognition of National
Art Week. Lorraine is also sending
into the Art Museum at Portland
a picture of the Geary Ranch.
Ida O Dell told of the trip made
to Lakeview as guests of the Sor
optlmlst club there to help them
celebrate their 10th anniversary
and Pounders Day. Attending were
Isabelle Brtxner. Evelyn Cooper.

Mrs. Clara 8hae Shaw was

a special homecoming party given
by the Bible Standard church with
a dinner served for the young mar

An Italian spaghetti dinner was
served in the grade school cafe
teria to Mr. and Mrs. Card, Mr.
and Mrs. David Lundeen and
daughters. Rev. and Mrs. David
Sutton and daughters, Mr. and Mrs.
Vince Bodner Jr., son and daugh
ter from Sprague River, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Jones and son. Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Isgrlg and daughters
were unable to attend.

of gflts. The Gards have recently
come lo Chiloquin after his dis
charge from the armed forces.
