QUOTA CLUB
Members of Klamath Quota
club honored Alice Vitus, retiring
governor of the 14th district, at a
party given Wednesday evening at
her home, which also was in cele
bration of the club's birthday and
took the place of the regular Octo
ber dinner meeting,
i Mrs. Vltvs was presented with
gift in appreciation of her past
gear's tervice, and reports were
given on the district conference
over which she presided last week
end in Portland at the Heathman
hotel.
Those attending from Klamath
Tails, besides the district gover
nor, were Vera Chase, district sec
retary: Ada Bproat. president of
the Klamath club, and Nadlne Coi
vin, second vice president, who
were delegates. About 75 were in
attendance and other clubs repre
sented Included Eugene, Portland,
iTacoma, Seattle and Spokane,
Wash., Vancouver and Victoria,
B. C.
A surprise honor was conferred
by Portland at the Saturday eve
ning banquet when Dorothy Crlm,"
Seattle, the new international pres-
-juenb oi vguoui, was made an non
orary member of the Rosarians,
Following election of officers on
Sunday morning, Mrs. Vitus turned
over her official governor duties
to Lucille Graham, Seattle, and
Anna Mae Powers, Spokane, was
installed as lieutenant governor.
During a short business meeting
Wednesday evening, the Kltfmath
club voted to change its program
meetings from evenings to the
luncheon hour, the first of which

was greeted as a new member,
and birthday gifts were wwi by

CATHOLIC RITES-UNITE
COUPLE IN MERRILL CHURCH
In one of the loveliest weddings of the early fall, Marie
Suty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Suty, Merrill, becanje
the bride of John Robert Lane. The bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lane, Adel, Ore. The young couple
are both from pioneer Klamath and Lake County families.
The double-ring ceremony was read at 10 a.m., Oct 11,
in St. Augustine's Church, Merrill by Father Phelan.
Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Robert Long sang Schu
bert's Ava Maria and Panis Angelicus. During the mass the
choir sang "0 Beautiful Mother." Paula Clark played the
organ accompaniment.
Acolytes were Con O'Nell and
Jackie Barry.
The altar was flanked with ar
rangements of orchid and white
chrysanthemums.
The bride, lovely In Ivory Chan-
liny lace and satin was escorted
to the altar by her father. Her
finger-Up tulle veil was caught by
a halo of net outlined with seed
pearls and sequins and she carried
a white orchid on a white prayer
Book. She wore a blue satin gar
ter, worn by her tlster. Mrs. Rob
ert Thompson at her wedding and
an Australian penny in her satin
fandal. Her borrowed pearls were
old.
Helen Sutv.was maid of honor
for her sister. Her ballerina length
frock of green satin was made
with an overs irt of silver Import
ed French lace. She wore a match
ing cap and carried green carna
tions tied witn satin jmoons oi
the same shade.

Thompson, sister of the bride. In

Mrs. Lane Is a graduate of
Klamath Union High School and
attended the University of Wash
ington. The bridegroom was grad
uated from Lakevlew High School.

IN DOUBLE-RING CEREMONY
In a candlelight double-ring ceremony, read by Pastor
Irvin Tweet in the Klamath Lutheran Church, Oct 11,
7 p.m., Virginia Obcrg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Obcrg, 1545 Oregon Avenue, became the bride of- John
'Stone, son of Mr. and "Mrs. Harry S. Stone,. 2204 Darrow
'Avenue.
I An all-white color scheme was chosen for the decora
tions; chrysanthemums and gladioli accented with the green
of palms were effectively used at the altar and pews were
marked with White satin bows holding tapers entwined with
ivy.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely
in an ankle length gown of tulle and Chantilly lace over
slipper satin.
( The gown was styled with a low?
scalloped neckline, outlined with
a ruffle of pleated tulle. The match
ing lace milts also had pleated
tulle at the wrists. A small lace
cap held the waist length veil of
