TULELAKE A coroner's report
from Alturaa determined Ihe death
of two-year-old Jamea O. Wolford,
son of a transient potato laborer,
Steve Wayne Wolford, wag the re
sult of hanging.
The little boy, one of 10 children
In the Wolford family, had been
left with an older sister, IS, and
a three-year-old alater while other
membera of Ihe family were pick
ing potatoea on the Dale Sproat
ranch, last Saturday.
' The older girl, left the back of a
truck In which the children had
been playing to look at aome new
puna. A few mementa later the
child waa found hanging to loop
of clothesline rope.
He waa taken to the office of
Tulelake physician who pronounced
the child dead.
The family had errlved only the
div before from Redmond. They
are resident of Bakerafleld where
the body was taken tor burial.
Two years ago while the family
waa In Tulelake for the harvest,
another child waa run over by
truck end Injured.
