20-year-old southpaw who played
with Vancouver of the Western In
ternational League last season, was
signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates

Howard Haste, the Pirates'
West Coast scout, said Cade will
be paid a bonus next July. Terms
were not revealed. The young pit
cher will report to the Pittsburgh
