The crooner with the built-in

final week of his first Hollywood
appearance at Clro's. He has bust
ed all records at the tamed Sunset
Strip nltery, even those set by
Martin and Lewis, the usual box
office kings.
Johnny, who says he is s real
cornball about movie people, is
stuiuicd by the nightly turnout of
big stars for his performances.
Some people like Joan Crawfoid
and Jack Benny have seen him
several times. Joan even broucht
her 13-year-old daughter Christina
to catch one of tne early snows.
"Man. It's crary," said Ray In
a dressing room interview. "I
can't sing. To tell you Die truth.
I'm actually a lousy singer. I Just
sing the way I feel."

the happy songs happy. No one
ever tells me to sing them other
