The engagement, recently announced by the btide-elect's par
ents, is of interest to locel friends of the Montry Jones. The
future Mrs. Monty Jones was graduated from the Cornell
Medical Center School of Anesthesia in New York City, and is
employed at St, Luke's Hospital, Bellingham. Jones is grad
uate of Western Washington College, end is teachino in La

Mr. Jack Bradley reports the
construction ol a new sheep bridge
on lower Miller Cicck. Jerry Ahein
and Patrick Angland are In charge
of construction. The crew consists
of several men from Bend. Jt
should be completed within the
next two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reidland and
children of The Dalles have moved
to Chemult. Mr. Reidland Is em
ployed by Morrison and Knutson
They are originally from Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. V. I. Brader want
to thank all their many friends who
helped save their home and the
local post office building yesterday
during the fire which destroyed
several buildings on their property

low a politick dinner at 6 p.m.
The following day, Mrs. McLean
will go to Ashland for a District
three meeting and lo attend the
opening of the Ashland Centennial
celebration.

number planning to be there dur
ing the week-long festivities will
he Mrs. Robert Odell. Klamath
Falls, nresident of District three
jwho will preside.
I DAR members from all of South
ern Oregon have been Invited to
participate In the Centennial tea
and reception lo be held Saluraay,
September SO. al tho Women's
Civic clubhouse. This social affair
will follow a parade at 2 p.m. that
will depict the hlhtorv of Ashland
from the time of Indian scouts,
prairie schooners, miners, stage
coaches and cavalry, to the present.
The tea will be followed bv a 6:30
dinner for all DAR members of
the Southern part of- the slate.
The local chapter will . hold
rummage sale. September 11. at
116 So. 11th Street In the rear of
the Coast to Coast Store. Mem
bers are asked to collect Items for
the sale.
