KATHRYN PAUP WEARS SATIN
AND LACE FOR RECENT NUPTIALS
Before an altar banked with pink and white gladioli,
woodwardia and seven point candelabra. Kathryn Delia
Paup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Paup. 1541 Hope
Street, exchanged marriage vows with Jack R. Rountree,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rountree, Myrtle Creek. The Rev.
David F. Barnett Jr. read the service at 4 p.m. in First
Presbyterian Church, August 31.
The exquisite bride was daintily regal in a classic gown of
traditional white satin with chantilly lace bodice and sleeves
and full court train. On her dark hair, she wore a seed pearl
and satin Juliette cap which held the fingertip veil of
illusion net. She carried her sister's white prayer book, cen
tered with a single white orchid with stephanotis. Kathryn .
was given in marriage by her father.

parties, occasioned by her forth
coming marriage.
Recently, a shower was given
for her in the music room of Alta
mont Junior High School, when the
following friends entertained for
her on September 5: Mrs. Clifford
McClellan. Mrs. Bob Davies, Mrs.
Calvin Peyton, Mrs. H. D.
Landrum, Mrs. Don Ferguson,
Joyce Landrum, Mrs. Hans Frei,
Thelma Janssen, Mrs. Jack Wright
and Mrs. Herbert Landis.
About 100 invitations were issued,
and guests were entertained with
"baloptican views of wedding pic
tures taken in past years of many
of the guests present.
Another highlight of the evening
was the showing of pictures taken
of Marilee from her babyhood to
her recent engagement announce
ment picture.
Her two siters, Shirley and Bon
nie, assisted in opening the gifts;
and during the evening a group
of high school girls sang songs
suitable to the bridal-shower theme.
They were: Martha Meador. Mar-
lene Moore, Shirley and Bonnie
Crawford. Carol Warner and
Sheryl Metier; accompanied at the
piano by Suzanne Frei.
At the refreshment table, which
featured a beautiful arrangement
of pastel gladioli arranged by Mrs.
Herbert Pollard; were Mrs. J.
Frank Penrod and Mrs. Arthur W.
Porter, sixth and third grade teach
ers of Marilee when she was in
the elementary classes; in fact
most of the guests had known
Marilee for many years.

guest of honor Monday night, Sep
tember 8, at a bridal shower given
for her at the Hans Frei home,

gray, smart pink chapeau and Mrs.
Kountree's corsage was also of
Cecil Bruner roses.
A reception in the church
parlors immediately followed the

Lodge 151 Meets
MERRILL A regular session of
Merrill Rebekah Lodge 151 was
held September 1, with Mildred
Rexford, noble grand, presiding.
Several members reported having
visited members who were 111 dur
ing the past two weeks.
The noble grand appointed Nao
mi Chase as a big sister for Eve
lyn Carson, and Donna Faye Has
kins as a big sister for Laura Lou
Hill, two new members initiated
August 23.
It was announced that a film on
civil defense would be shown at
the recreation hall September 9,
and the public is urged to attend.
It was also announced that at the
next Grange meeting September 2
Helen Lacey would show clotures
oi ner recent trip to Ireland. The
meeting is open to tne public.
Good of the Order chairman,
Mary Pope, presented a Drogram
of games. Hazel McNeill won the
prize. At the next regular meeting
September 15, an interesting musi
cal program of accordion selections
oy Bonnie Trotman will be pre
sented. Mrs. Eldon Payzant and
Mrs. C. E. Sharp will also partici
pate. Refreshments will be served
and all visitors are welcome.

The Klamath Falls branch of the
American Association of University
Women will hold their first lunch
eon meeting of the season Satur
day. September 20. 12:45 p.m., at
Uie Yacht Club.
Mrs. Robert A. Thompson will
be speaker of the day. She has
chosen "Can't We Tell Right from
Wrong?" as ner thought-provoking
subject.
Bob Enman will entertain with
several violin solos, accompanied
by Ruth Lobaugh.
All AAUW members are urged
to attend tills meeting and bring
as their guests prospective mem
bers. Membership in AAUW is
based on graduation from colleges
accredited by the policies set by
the National branch of AAUW. All
women in the vicinity of Klamath
Falls who ale college graduates

ton, Washington. His home is in Crucible, Pennsylvania, and
after service in Europe and Korea, he is being transferred from
Korea back to Europe, where he will be stationed in Austria.
