A seasonally light demand from
shippers accounted (or some o( the
price drop. Burrows and gills were
mostly 50 cents lower at the close
ol trading Friday compared with
i a week ago. and sows were 25 to 50
cents lower. A top price of (20.15
was paid (or a load of mostly
choice uglitweignt Dutcners fri
day. but aside from this sale only
lew loads ol butchers could
command as much as $20. Most
choice lightweights went at $19.75
lo $19.90. The top for choice sows
under 300 pounds was $19.
Cattle receipts for the week were
among the year's largest. Choice
and prime 1,100 lb oderings were
steady to 25 cents lower In active
trading. There was little demand
(or other grades and weights, with
prices as much as $1.50 lower and
some animals held over for next
week's trade. Heifers were weak
to $1 down; bulls $1 to $1.50 lower,
and vealers $1 to $2 lower. Cows
held about steady following a sharp
decline last week.
Choice and prime native lambs
closed steady to 50 cents lower
than last week. All other grades
were down $1 to $1.50, with the

Robert Miller, 50, of Merrill, was
brought to the County Jail last
night to face a charge of obtaining
money and property by false pre
tenses. He Is accused of passing
