The first fall meeting of Man-
zanita Chapter 172. OES was held
Friday evening September 5. in the
IOOF Hall. Vera Fritsch, Worthy
Matron and John Larson, Worthy
Patron presided - and greeted
members and friends.
Reports on the chapter's activi
ties and projects during summer
vacation were given by various
members and officers.
The social hour was held In the
dining room which was attractively
decorated with autumn flowers.
Everyone enjoyed an alphabet
game supervised by Thelma Cres
well. Refreshments were served by
the committee: Thelma Creswell,
Clelhv MacDonald. Freda Jackson
and Colleen Creswell.

A pretty. Informal afternoon wed
ding. August 24. In the First Pres
byterian Church, united June
Sylvia Spicher. daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Virgil Kelly. Baker. Ore.,
and Eugene Sylbert Hawkins, son
of Mrs. A. E. Bergloff. 2748 Wlard
Street, in marriage. The three
o'clock service was read by the
Rev. David F. Barnett Jr.
Mrs. E. A. Veatch, organist, ac
companied Ruby Gehring, soloist.
Escorted to the altar, flanked
with large baskets of salmon and
white gladioli, before a background
of greenery, the bride wore a gown
of deep salmon net over satin,
styled with a skirt of tiered pleated
net, and with It she wore a match
ing stole. .
Her headband was of white
glamelia petals on apple green rib
bon, and she carried a crescent
bouauet of white glamelias with
apple green streamers.
The bride's attendants were all
dressed alike, in net over satin,
with matching stoles, except for
color. Matron of honor, Mrs. Dick
Spicher, wore an orchid gown, and
her headband was of yellow gla
melia petals. Her bouquet was the
same as the bride's In yellow with
yellow ribbon streamers. Mrs. Al
bert Bonotto, bridesmaid, wore
