church In Bonanza was dedicated.

ter, told of the growth of the
parish, the construction of the pres
ent brick church In 1939. parish
house in 1940. and now the com
pletion of the new parish hall.
The new hall will provide ample
facilities for all social and recrea
tional activities In the parish, for.

en, which can be converted Into
three separate classrooms, by

nesday night. They voted 82-69
Tuesday to end a month - long
striVe.
The commercial season opened
Wednesday noon alter being closed
since Aug. 26 when the summer
season ended. The fishermen
struck Aug. 10 to support demands
for higher prices paid for their
catches.
Last week Circuit Judge Howard
K. Zimmerman ruled that the Co
lumbia River Fishermen's Protec
tive Union was not a bona fide
labor organization entitled to pick
et to support Its demands. The
ruling prohibited the fishermen
from picketing two Astoria canner
ies. Judge Zimmerman decided the
fishermen acted .as independent
contractors.
The Columbia River Packers As
sociation has announced it would
pay these prices for fall-caught
fish: 17 cents a pound for first
quality Chinook, 7 cents for poor
quality, 16 cents for silverslde and
steelhead.
