Such was the case at the Flower
Show held recently at Bonauia.
While the blossoms were not as
luscious as in lormer vears and
many divisions had only one or two
entries or none at all, the show was
considered a success.
Mrs. Klile Smith, Cave Junction,

THIS HOUSEWIFE hat discovered two work-javeri that have
taken the drudgery out of kitchen floor care. One is a long
handled wax applier that permits waxing standing up. The other
is a new hard-gloss self-polishing wax that provides a tough
finish to resist mars from scuffing feet. Dirt doesn't penetrate

The next time your husband

can bat him down with a statistic.
"Just a minute, Buster," you can
say. fixing hint with a calm but
steely eye. "A recent survey shows
that 81 per cent of American hus
bands help with the housework.
What's more, these people at
the Tide Washing Clinic, who con
ducted this survey, report, that
these husbands are not henpecked
into wiping the dishes and empty
ing the ashtrays. They do it be
cause they love it. So there!"
If your husband continues to be
one of the submerged 9 per cent,
you can make bright dinner table
conversation with other little ex
cerpts from the report, wherein
the paragon husbands are quoted
as saying cheerfully, "Sure, house
work is partly my Job, tool"
The report continues with the
statement that doing dishes is the
most popular husbandly chore,
with 67 per cent of those inter
viewed In 300 communities admit
ting that they not only help with
the dishes they actually enjoy it.

About half of the husbands help
tidy up the house, says the report.
One-fourth are amateur chefs and
one-third help with the laundry.
This is all very well, from the
husband's point of view. The man
who wipes the dishes for his wife
gets a fine noble glow that can last
all week and provide him with con
versational fodder which goes
something like this:
"My wife has been spending an
hour in the kitchen every evening
for years, Just doing the dishes.
Well, sir, you should have seen
her face when I showed her last

minutes flat."
He omits the fact that In the
process he broke two of the best
glasses, used up six clean dish
towels and spilled so much water
on the kitchen floor that his wife
