ceremony and enjoyed a very won
derful turkey wedding dinner.

The entire wedding party made
an over-night stay at the impres
sive Opplo Ranch and had a grand
time. The newlv weds returned via
the beautiful Feather River route
which added new scenery to the
trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Bart Scrlvner have
a house at Willow Ranch where
Bart is employed at the mill and
there they will make their home.

Around and around they go and
the capers they cut are not
exactly slow! Those guys are
members of the local square dance
team. Can't you Just see 'em
gracing their steps to the good old
folk tunes our grandparents used
to frolic to prenaratorv to this
Saturday night? Then they will
enter the Square Dance contest at
the football field in Lakeview when
e, local gal Miss Anna Mae Fisher
will be crowned "Queen of the
Lakeview Roundup!"
This should be good! It is un
derstood there will be square dance
teams competing from not only all
around the valley but also from
Alturas and other towns outside
the valley. Mrs. Velma Newcombe
of Lakeview Is chairman of this
event and she is being assisted
locally by Mrs. Amy Cloud. The
group started practicing- last week
and it is at it strong again this
week.
Mrs. Hazel Sanford was admitted
to the Lake County Hospital last
Thursday where she underwent
major surgery. She is convalescing
nicely from the operation and Is

The following relatives enjoyed
last Sunday when they spend the
day picnicking together at Dog
Lake: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lightle
and daughter Darlene. Mr. and
Mrs. Shelvia Lightle, Mr. and Mrs.
K. W. Danforth, Mrs. Paul Meeh
and children. They spent a most
enjoyable day and upon their ar
rival home was surprised to find
Mr. Paul Meeh had arrived while
they were away.
Mr. Meeh left Yuma, Arts., the
last of the week and planned to
take his wife and children home,
as they had spent several weeks
with relatives here, however, about
400 miles this side of Yuma, he
was hit by a large truck which
demolished his car. Fortunately,
Mr. Meeh suffered only slight
bruises, and traveled on by bus
arriving at the Walt Lightle on
Sunday. The Meehs left Wednes
day by bus for their borne in Yuma.
Mr. and Mrs. Truman Eartaog
enjoyed a visit over the weekend
from her brother and his wife. Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Btombaugh, Santa
Rosa. While they wera her. thev
visited another sister, at the Jim
Wakefield home at Warner They
left Monday, as Mr. Stombaugh
had to be back to his place of

bride wore a full skirted, street
length, blue tatleta frock with a
pale blue lace cape, her corsage
was of pink roses and her pearl
choker was somedung borrowed.
The maid of honor, Miss Fern
Pitcher, wore a pale blue organdy
street length frock and her corsage
was of pink carnations.
The best man waa Burton Brown,

program here at the Grange Hall
Saturday night August 9. Their
program opened with the aalule to
the flag, club pledge, two songs,
4-H club creed, yell, and a skit.
Lee Hansen club agent did not
show up to show the scheduled mo
vies, so the evening was spent with
the cake walk which netted tlie
group 137.00. There were 11 cakes
donated wlih several people turn
ing back some of the cokes Uiey
won.

the teacherage Sunday afternoon,
August 17. Mrs. Sloan Is the new

Mrs. Elliott House and Mrs. Don
Ross, Klamath Falls, and Mrs.
Fete Hodges, Tulelake, attended a
stork shower for Mrs. David House
at the home of Mra. Ruth Oben-
chaln. Blv. Friday afternoon.
Mrs. Sadie Bray la visiting her
daughter, Mrs. Joe Andrews, and
lamllv of Eagle Point,
Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Tolell
spent several davs with relatives
and friends. Crescent city.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Horsley. Mid
land, and Mr. and Mrs. Buck
Stoeschler and children. Klamath
Falls, were dinner guests of Mr
and Mrs. Owne Pepple and Ted on
Tuesday evening.

Mm. Irene Bechdoldt went back
to Red Bluff with her daughter
for several weeks.
