Martin Qumley. Ilir Dalles, the
Rev. P. J. Lunliam, Lnkevlrw, and
the Rev. Matthew Crotty, Chancel
lor ol the Diocese. Baker City.

ducted by Father O'Connor with the

, The tragic accident occurred Frl
dav. evening about six when the car

bv Michael Walsh, left the road
and overturned several times In
front of the Elder, ranch south of
Falsify. Both men were brought
to the I.nkcvlrw hosnllul where
Lynch died very shortly after re
ceiving the last rites of the Catho
lic Church. Thev had been visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Lynch in Summer Luke and were
returning to Lakevlew.
Many people In this vlclnllv will
remember the father of tho de
ceased, who still survives in Ire
land. Thomas Lynch wna one of the
pioneers In the sheep industry In
Lake County. The remainder of the
surviving family arc all resident
of this country. Thev are: Mrs.

Thomaa Lynch, his mother, passed
uwav in Ireland In 1D31.
Patrick J. Lynch was born In
Kanturk County Cork, Ireland, on
October 3. 1PV3, but lived In New
market, where Ihe family home wsa
until he came to this country In
October. 1924. He worked In the
sheen Industry her and was as
sociated during a period of vears
with W.K. Verllng and also with
nis cousin. Con Lynch.

Applications are available now at
the Chamber of Commerce offices,
and must be completed and re
turned by deadline tomorrow, ac
cording to Jaycee Fres. Oall Os
born. .
Winner of the local contest will
receive an all-expenses-patd trip to
Portland lo compete there In the
slate contest. Sponsors of the Na
tional Road-e-o are the Jayceea
and the Liberty Mutual Insurance
Company.
The competition Is to Include con
tests In parking, driving In traffic,
Osborn said Ihe Jaycees will super
vise both local and state contests,
knowledge of traffic laws, and sev
eral other points In aafe driving.
Tcen-agera who have been guilty
of a "moving" violation (other
than parking tickets, etc.) within
the past six months will not be
ellKlble to participate, otnerwise,
Osborn reported, all licensed driv
ing teen-agers are eligible and are
urged to enter Ihe Road-e-o.
The written examination is to be
held Wednesday. 1 p.m.. at KUH8.

actual driving contest.

reported, the second place winner

Swim Course
LAKFViRW Nine persons are
enrolled thla week In the senior
life saving course at the municipal
pool, with pool manager, Stanley
Tooke, as the Instructor, assisted
by Duke Stewart. Some are taking
the course for the first time and
others are taking It a a refresher
course, In order to be eligible lor
the water safety course next week.

asked by the Lions to raise chin

men. Some thieves got the 70. and
without benefit of hook and line
State Patrolman Jesse Jones re
ported that a fish trap on Deep
ireea was rooDea test weekend.
Someone had waded Into the stream
to the trap, lifted the cover and
look out the trout.
The fish, 13 to 14 inches In size.
had been planted In several stream
and lakes. In planting Deep Creek,
the game commission crew had
placed some In a trap in order to
observe survival. Jones explained
mat sometimes stream conditions
cause loss of planted fish, so st
times some of the plant are placed
in a trap in order to save and
study Ilsti which die from some
cause.
In the Deep Creek trap. II had
died, the officer ssid snd the re
mainder were still being held for
observation wnen the thieves took
over.

ing of the School District 7 (Lake-
view directors on Mondty, June
30, Ray Harlan was elected chair
man ol the board for the year
1952-53 and a contract for remodel
ing work at the high school was
