Germ Charge
UNITED NATIONS. N. Y. CW
Russia's Jacob A. Malik vetoed a
United States resolution Wednes
day declaring the Russian germ
warfare charges false and con
demning their circulation through
out the world. It was Russia's SOth
veto since the U.N. began.
The Security Council voted to
1 for the American resolution but
the single negative vote of the
Russian delegate constituted a
veto. The 11th council member,
Pakistan, abstained.
The American proposal was put
before the council by Ambassador
Ernest A. Gross last week after
Malik had vetoed an earlier U.S.
resolution calling for an impartial
investigation of Communist
charges that the U.S. and the U.N.
are waging germ warfare In
Korea and China.
After the vote Wednesday Gross
said the council had exposed the
campaign of "lies and bate" for
what it is.

Lt. Russell L. Hobbs. 28, of Walla
Walla, Wash., a radar observer.
Streaming fire from its No. 4

to earth about 8 a. m.
The Impact scattered the ship
over 15 acres.

Receipes
Always welcome in hot weather
Is potato salad, whether served as
a main dish for supper, a hearty
dinnertime salad or for a picnic
lunch. Popular standby for sum
mertime meals, fix it in a variety
ot ways to give added interest and
flavor.
Served chilled with a generous
addition of onion and seasonings,
potato salad blends particularly
well with such spicy meats as bo
logna, llverwurst, ham. tongue and
other cold cuts. A delicious com
bination for a summer supper. It
would be incomplete, of course,
without the tang and flavor of
chilled beer, a perfect complement
to the salty meat and creamy
salad.
EASY TO MOULD
Nothing needs to be added to
notat" salpd to make lt mold eas
ily. Simply pack very firmly Into
a rim? mold or sponge cake pan
or other shape which has been
rubbed generously with salad oil.
Chill several hours and unmold on
a large platter. Fill the center with
red radishes and dark ripe olives
and arrange the cold cuts with
sliced tomatoes and lettuce around
the ring. Fill un a basket with
crisp rolls and pour the beverage
