very well attended. Brother Bill
Dehne was honored at the oldest
Orange Father present, and he was
presented with a few gifts from
Bis friends. Everyone sang "Happy
Birthday" to Bill; It was his Both
birthday. Bill gave a very Interest
ing talk on farming methods 100
years ago.
June 14 was also Flag Day. Don
MoOee read a message by General
Matthew B. Ridgway that appeared
In th June 8, 1952. issue of the
Sunday Journal. Roberta McOee
told how to care for the flag and
the group sang "America The
Beautiful." The orlfiin of Father's
Day was read by Roberta McGee.
Joan Perry recited a poem and
presented her Dnd with a bouton
nlere. Fern Pitcher pinned the bou
tonnleres on all the Fathers pres
ent. Owen Pitcher read "Only a
Dad" by Edgar A. Quest. The
Youth committee Rang "Silver
Haired Daddy"; Joe Kaley recited
"My Daddy": Rube Long told us
"What a Boy Thinks of His
Father"; Jean Kaley recited
"What's The Matter With Father"
and Mrs. Kaley read a humorous
"Essay On Man." After the birth

arrived this week to visit her
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Roblson and her family. She ex
pects to vacation her until
June 29.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Anderson and
son Mike, Redding, spent Sunday
in Macdoel visiting friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edsall. Ya
kima, visited her over the week
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carruthers
moved last week into the Bruce
Scholes place. The Scholes are
moving to Redding.
Those enjoying fishing at Medi
cine Lake last Sunday were Wavne
Holbrook. Tulelake: W. J Hoi
brook, Malin; Virgil Holbrook.
Macdoel and Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Whitt. Thev report the road In fair
condition. It was opened last week
by Jack Swank who has been
spending some time at the lake
fishing.
Mr. ana Mrs. E. H. Kelly, par
ents of Mrs. Bob Ohlmg, visited
here from Thursday to Sunday
this week. The Ohling children re
turned with them to their home in
Salem, where they will visit their
grandparents for two weeks.

I regret to report that we did
not come home with a 100 per
cent dues paid banner this year,
as we have done In the past two
years, from the State Grange ses
sion. Our Secretary Ed Eskelm did
try but two members did not get
their dues in on time.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Arney of Silver
Lake were obligated into the Fort
Rock Grange, Saturday night, June
14.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Williams
of Redmond were the guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Emery at
Orange, Saturday night. Mrs. Wil
liams is the former Olive Buchanan
who lived at Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Schnick
and Jean were week end visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Branch.
They all had Father's Day dinner
with Bill Dehne. Jean spent the
week visiting here with her Aunt
Venita, Clinton and Joan.
Mrs. Margaret Kaley and Jean
left Tuesday, June 17, to aiiena
4-H Summer School at Corvallis.
Mrs. Kaley is one of the chaperones
for the group. Marian Miles is also
attending summer school. There
are 22 girls and IS boys in the
group and they will oe gone ten
days.
Mrs. Carol Ousley, sister of
Edith Pitcher, attended the Grange
program Saturday night. Mrs.
Ousley arrived Friday at the
Pitcher's home to visit. She left
for Portland Sunday morning,
from there she will board a plane
lor Fairbanks. Alaska, where she
will Join her husband.
Mrs. Josephine Chamberlain, Eu
gene, arrived June 7 to visit with
Mr. and Mrs. Chub Frasee. Mrs.
Chamberlain is Mrs. Frazee'i
mother. Also visiting with the
Frazees were Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Muhr and four children. Eugene.
The Muhr family returned the same
tlay except for Michael. Also vis
iting the past week at the Frazee
home were Mr. and Mrs. H. Hoff
man and two sons, Boise, Idaho.
Miss Leslie Frazee, Paisley, has
been visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Chub Frazee the past two weeks.

tion at the schoolhouse, Monday,
June 16. Art Kaley succeeds Ed
Xskelin on the school board. There
was a clean up day held on the
school grounds and a great deal
of the sage brush and thistles were
carried away.

formerly Iowa friends of the Parks.

Mr. and Mrs. Bud Parks and
children left Sunday morning for
Turner, Ore., where they will at
tend a church convention. They
borrowed Charley Stingley's trailer
house. They plan on being gone
about a week.
Rev. and Mrs. 0. E. Barrow,
Llscomb, Iowa, will arrive by train
in Salem June 2b. Mr. ana Mrs.
Bud Parks will meet them there
while attending the convention at
Turner. They all plan to come here
Friday June 27. Kev. ana Mrs
Barrow are Helen Parks' parents.

at the Silver Lake Community
Church, June 29. The Fort Roct
Community is cordially invited to
attend. A potluck dinner is planned
at the Russell Emery rancn, suver

Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Perry and
three children, Eugene, spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Stltz. Rev. Perry is the new minis
ter of the Silver Lake Church.
Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Blunt and
daughter Jane, Stuart, Iowa, are
to arrive the evening of the 28th
They have been attendng the Gen
eral Council of Congregational
Churches at Claremont, Calif. Rev.
Gordon was a delegate. Mrs. Gor
don is Helen Parks' sister. The
Gordons plan to spend a few days
In Fort Rock. They and Rev. and
Mrs. Barrows will drive home to
Iowa together.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gillette,
Klamath Falls, rented their ranch
which is the former Rallegh Gar
den place to Mr. and Mrs. Mat
lock for a year.
Mrs. Marvin Enlow and Melvln
Bnlow are at Delano, Calif., attend
ing Bible school of the Church of
Christ convention. They will be
gone about three weeks as. they also
will visit with relatives In Califor
nia. They have been gone about
' two weeks now.
Mrs. Howard McGee, her chil
dren and her mother, Mrs. Alfred
Andrews spent June 9-12 in Klam
ath Falls visiting with Mrs. June
McGee and family. Rose had somo
dental work done while she was
there.

move to Riddle, Oregon to manage

home by bus last week after hav
ing visited for two weeks In the
Willamette Valley. Sally visited in
Corvallis with friends and George
in Hillsboro and Portland I where
he saw the Rose parades with" rela
tives. Mrs. W. B. DuBois and daugh
ter Peggy returned last week from
a week spent in Willow Ranch
near Lakeview with Mrs. DuBois'
sister, the Buck Winkle family.

Fort Klamath and Chiloquin Meth
odist churches, and Mrs. Bert Bick
ers of Modoc Point, chosen the
lay delegate from this district, left
here Tuesday to attend the annual
conference of the church, held this
year in Portland. Echlin returned
on Thursday morning in order to
conduct tne last rites lor the late
Mrs. Gus Page at Fort Klamath
and Mrs. Bickers was to return
by bus on Saturday evening.
