Momyer, now Mrs. Robert Odell,
first women to be employed In a
bank In Klamath Falls and then
associated with .her father In real
estate and Insurance.
Francis Beatty daughter of the
man for whom the town of Beatty
was named, unanimously elected
president; Mrs. Lena Dennis, for
mer City Treasurer and Mrs. Ger
trude Moore who held positions in
the Klamath Slate Bank, the First
State and Havings and later the
First Nallonul Bank.
All with the exception of the
president, now Mrs. James Rack
ncr, Cottage Grove, still live here.
At first, meetings were held ,in
various homes, then in the old Li
brary building on the corner next
to the present Courthouse. Boon the
group gravitated toward what was
then the social center of the city,

PLAYING A PROMINENT part in the organization of the
Klamath Falls Business and Professional Women's Club
were (1 to r) Mrs. J. F. Kimball, then president of the
Women's Library Club and Mrs. James Rackncr, then
Frances Beatty, for whose family the town of Beatty was
named. Mrs. Rackner was the first BPW president. She
now lives on the Oregon Coast.
