He's in business. Hendershott de
signed the pit in 1947. sold his
first one to the University of Ore
gon, his alma mater.
Since then he has sold two to
St .Louis high schools.

The rigs are assembled and
shipped in Bend, Hendershott's
borne town.
Bob has made just one innova
tion from his first model. The orig
inal had regulation wheels that
rolled just frontwards and back
wards. Hendershott added "crazy
wheels" for operation in any direc

over the entire framework. The
