Accidents Up
SALEM iT. Oregon had a new
record high total ol 75,147 traffic
accidents In 1951, the State Traffic
Safety Division reported Friday.
The I860 total was 74,106.
The Increase reflects a continu
ing gain in the stale's traffic vol
ume, the division said. About 70
iler cent of the ace'dents occurred
i in Incorporated cities and towns,
but 78 per cent of the traffic
fatalities occurred outside the
; cities and towns.
