New Angling Laws Applied Angling regulations adopted by the game commission on January 25 are now In effect. The new win ter regulations apply at present and will remain in force until March 18 in Zone 1, April 18 in zone is, and May 2 in eastern Ore gon. In Zones 1 and 2 which Include all of western Oregon except the Umpqua and Rogue systems, the winter bag limit is two fish per day and four per week, 12 inches or over, embracing any combina tion of trout, Jack salmon, steel- neaa or ssimon. In eastern Oregon the winter bag limit is two steelhead or salmon 20 inches' and over per day or iour sucn iisn per week. On the Umpqua and Rogue sys tems the winter regulations now applying are identical to those of last year. Of Interest is the fact that the practice of listing waters open to winter angling as has been done for several years in Zone 1 (coast) has been adopted for Zone 2 and all of the eastern part of the state, Streams or lakes which names do not appear on the listings are closed entirely to winter angling. Until the 1952 synopsis is avail able in March, the February bulle tin of the game commission should be used for reference. Winter ang ling waters are listed by sone in that bulletin on pages 11 and 12. Anglers must continue to use the 1651 steelhead-salmon tact card nn. til it Is replaced by the 1952 punch card which will become effective on March 16. . t. I ifaWtaj-MaNrilaV-l I.
