Friday to bring out the body of a
Canadian student pilot who died in
the crash of a light private plane.

vived the crash which he said oc
curred when the student, Jack
Welch, "froze" at the controls.
The plane had been missing alnce
Wednesday evening on a practice
flight from Vancouver.
O'Reilly said the plane hung In a
tree about 30 feet from the ground.
He stayed In It overnight before
hiking out for help. He said Welch
had been killed outright.
O'Reilly told authorities that he
and Welch, a World War II pilot
who was taking a refresher course,
became lost In the mountainous re
gion east of here.
"We hit a turbulent area which
buffeted the plane so much Welch
froze at the controls. Try as I
could I could not wrench the con
trols free and It piled up," O'Reilly
said.
