son Don shot three honkers In No
vember, and they were similarly
banded, the geese having been
shot In the vlclnllv of Upper Klam
ath Lake, about thlrtv miles north

The community was shocked by
the sudden death ol Alfred B.
"Tony" Cartel Sr., 66. who passed
away at 1:46 Thursday alternoon,
December 6, victim of a heart
attack. At the time he was
stricken, Castel was standing- on
, a short ladder doing some minor
csrpemer work on the storm porch
at the rear of his residence, his
wife, Mildred, being busy Inside
the house attending to some cor
; resnoodence. Hearing him fall, she
rushed outside and found him un
conscious on the ground, with a
bad cut on bis head as a result
of the fall. Immediate aid was ob
tained from neighbors by Mrs.
Castel, and a doctor summoned,
but nothing could be done, as
death had been Instantaneous.
Always active and keenly Inter
ested In community affairs. Castel
-was president of the Wood River
Pioneers and Old Timers and also
a member of the Fort Klamath
