not be made in Hollywood. Yet I
can see nothing wrong about them.
They are merely slices of life.

in this business should be allowed
to give their talents a free rein
and be able to deal with any adult

"That's a good example," Miss
Stanwyck concluded. "It would
have been stupid to go through
three hours of real drama and
then have Rhett Butler say, 'Frank
ly, Scarlett, I don't give a hoot.'!"

Sandra Mateta of Boston isn't in
Canada today because she asked
an airliner s pilot in New York
if she needed a ticket
Sounds confusing, doesn't It?
And it is, when you consider this
wandering sequence of events:
Sandra boarded a Northeast air
lines plane at Boston Logan field
last night bound for New York,
which she Intended to be the first
leg of an air Journey to California.
FUNDS
She wasn't worried over the fact
she had spent her last 35 cents
to get to the airport.
Nobody asked the brown-haired
blue-eved girl if she had a ticket.
The stewardess plied her with co
coa and cookies on the flight to
La Guardla field here.
At La Guardla. Sandra scooted
around looking for a California
bound plane. She couldn't find one,
so she settled on a Trans-Canada
airliner almost ready to take off.
In fact, the pilot was "revving"
his motors when Sandra knocked
on the door of his cabin. She asked
him if she needed a ticket.
Sandra was escorted to a near
by police station, where she told
her interrogators that yesterday
seemed l'ke a good day tor flying
so sne new,
SHELTER
Police wired Sandra's father, Jo
seph, and placed the youngster In
a children's society shelter home
for the night.
When she took off by ordinary
land vehicle for the shelter, San
dra still was carrying her school'
books, carefully wrapped in brown
paper.
She- had Intended to do some
studying while flying to California,
she said.
