Jenkins. 51, was arrested in a
bus terminal here Tuesday night.
Jim Brown of the Ventura Sar
Free Press caused the arrest by
telephoning police after be re
ceived word that a man was run
ning around at the terminal wear
ing only shorts and an overcoat.
Brown grabbed his camera and
hurried over to see the fun. "When
I got there," he said, "Jenkins
was sitting quieuy waiting lor a
bus. He didn't appear to be drunk.
He was dressed in beach shorts
and a pea Jacket."
After Jenkins' arrest. Brown
said, his conscience pricked him.

that nobody died. It Is Just that
audiometer tests were taken by
the grade school children. Thus,
the high school students had to
be extra quiet so as not to In
terfere. Thirty-four freshmen wer mis
sing from school Wednesday after
noon. No. they didn't play hookey.
The frosh earned this half-a-day
off by being me first of tne
high school rooms to have paid
the student body dues by every
one in me class- So you see. It
Just goes to show ma ambition
of the largest class in the high
school.
In recognition of "Fire Preven
tion Week," students of the acad
emy listened yesterday morning
to several guest speakers on the
Importance of preventing tires.
The student body meeting was
held yesterday afternoon. Aside
from me general business meeting
very little happened. Afterwards a
short dance was enjoyed by those
present. v
While the Trojans and their sup
porters may not shoot the Antlers
of Bonanza, they certainly Intend
to make them run this allernoon
on the Bonanra field. Win or

LAKEVIEW Beverly Brown has
been elected secretary of the Lake
county chamber of commerce, fill
ing the vacancy left recently by
the resignation of D. W. Christian
son as manager. The appointment
was made by the chamber execu

utive committee an advisory board
was named to work with Miss
