to death early today as they
rootled with a masked gunman
Intent on robbery.
A police dragnet waa spread
around tht city Immediately in an
effort to catch the killer.
Victim
Tha victims were Char lea Lem
morn. 70, and John Hendley, 31
both of Lewuton.
Lemmona waa the first to die.
Aa the masked gunman walked
Into tht Main street bar at mid
night and waved a putol at tht
bartender, Oladya Keller. Lemmona
stepped from hla booth.
"You can't do that to her." he
shouted.
A single bullet caught him In tht
stomach, but he moved forward
and grappled with the gunman
briefly before collapsing and dying.
Second Death
Hendley went to Lemmona' aid
but also waa shot. In the chest, and
collapsed.
The gunman then fled, firing
four more shot aa he ran.
