past 10 days will be premiered at
the Pelican theatre tonight.
The picture, dealing with life in
the Klamath basin was filmed and
produced by Robert Allen of Reelift
Productions, Inc.. Hollywood.
Allen has been in the area for
some time and has procured se
quences from Klamath Palls cover
ing schools, churches. Industry, ag
riculture and merchandising. The
film also contains pictures of the
Merrill spud festival. -
This is the second picture con
cerning Klamath Palls to be taken
here, the first being 'Klamath At
War" which waa taken by Alien
five years ago and shown here.

The suburban fire department re
ported two fires this morning. At
(:9T ajn. today, they answered a
call to IMS Logan where a fire
caused by a defective flue caused
considerable damage to the house.
Yesterday afternoon at 4:S0 p m.
they were called to extinguish a
grass fire at 4606 Clinton. No dam
age was reported.

To Van Cleve
Sale of the 1500-sere Phllpott
ranch in the Bonansa area waa
made public today by Mrs. Eva P.
Phiipou and her two sons. Ward
and Donald. The ranch, purchased
by L. A. Van Cleve. Merrill. Is one
of the oldest ranches in Langell
valley.
Three homes have been built on
the place which has other extensive
lmDroretnents.
The late Mr. Phllpott homesteaded
In 1911. later buying adjoining acres
which Included the Lytic ranch and
the J. O. Patterson holdings.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Cleve who nave
ranched in the Merrill district for
seven years wlU move to the ranch
in the near future. Van Cleve sold
his Merrill ranch to Ivan and Law
son Ksndra several months ago
and has since lived In Merrill.
The transaction was handled by
the Henry Newhouse real estate of
fice. No consideration was announced.

Nurses Needed

Registered nurses are needed to
meet a serious nurse shortage in
hospitals on Indian reservations In
four Western states. The Red Cross
has been asked to auume some re
sponsibility In helping the hospitals
give at least a minimum service to
the sick because of Ita present dis
aster relief policy to assist govern
mental agencies In time of emer
gency. Twenty-two nurses are urgently

The Klamath Kennel club will
stage a preliminary dog show Sun
day at the Klamath Falla fair
grounds. '
Dog owners must have canine en
tries at the fairgrounds 10 o clock
Sunday morning and Judging will
start at 10 30. continuing all day
through 6:30 p.m.
Entries Deadline
Late entries will not be accepted
as It will be necessary to have
all entries officially checked by a
veterinarian, this to be done be
tween t and 10 o'clock. 8 porting
and hunting dogs will be checked
by the vet between noon and 1pm.
Veterinary check will be done at
