The Southern Pacific Shasta divi
sion safety meeting is being held
tonight, 7:30 pjn. In the Klamath
Palls Legion hsU. The meeting Is
sponsored by all railroad organisa

million man-hours worked. "Thla

8 Orkney Retires

than 46 years of service with South
em Pacific, retired recently. Stick

out of Dunsmuir, Calif.

car foreman working out of Ash
land, attended the C. C. Crowson
funeral in Klamath Palls Tuesday
of this week. Mr. Crowson passed
away in the Southern Pacific hospi
tal, San Francisco, after a linger
ing illness.

CANTON UP) Many Chinese
university professors are clearing
out of red China because they don't
want to. teach under communist dis
cipline. Han Ll-wu, minister of edu
cation, says his ministry already has
taken care of 354 professors who
escaped from communist China
