Road Opening
Set Nov. 13
Opening of the last stretch of
the Warm Springs highway was
announced to Klamath chamber of
commerce members on Wednesday.
Ceremonies to mark the opening
have tentatively been set for No
vember IS at the Mill Creek bridge.
A meeting will be held next Sun
day at Tlmberline lodge to lay
final plans.
The new road will provide a
straight, fast road via Madras to
Portland from Klamath Falls.

of Oregon. United la engaged In oil
exploration work in the state. At
the present time the company has
two test wells In the Harney area
and la planning further test bores.
Members were reminded that in
case of a change of address voter
registration must be kept up to date
and the move recorded. Failure to
do so takes the name off the voter
roster.

chimney spark or air-borne fire
brand. Asphalt shingles, or other
fire-resistant material cost no more,
and often fire Insurance rates are
lower.
S. Have your heating system
checked to see that it is operating
properly. Replace defective or worn
parts. Have the furnace cleaned
yearly. Enclose the furnace in fire
resistant walls, and hare exposed
beams covered with some fire-resistant
material.
1. Have the chimney Inspected
and make sure it is solidly built,
properly supported and lined. Clean
once a year.
If housewives will take these
steps now, the NFPA says, the
number of home fires will be cut
SO per cent almost overnight.
