istrator said.
Although tha money Is 15.000. 000
short of the president's budget re

County Deputy Coroner Fred Buell
aaid last night that dental charts
had confirmed the identification of
a body found In Salt creek as a
victim of a 1945 traffic tragedy.
The skeleton was that of John A.
Mitchell, Portlander whose car went
off a road near Oakridge December
38. 1945. Mitchell's wife, his daugh
ter and a son were killed also.
The family had lived at Portland,
at the time of the Christmas week
tragedy. They had moved from Spo
kane a year previously.

At Home Fun
CHICAGO. WV Life In the Van
Der Bosch family is perpetual fun.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Der
Bosch and their nine children run
family affairs like a business. Esch
young Van Der Bosch Is assigned
a chore, except Edward Jr, who is
married and lives nearby.
The Van Der Beeches live In a
converted two-family dwelling. The
upper floor was made Into a spa
cious dormitory. The lower apart
ment Is used as the living area.

Six of the children are In school,
with two boys attending college.
Dad Van Der Bosch operates a
wholesale produce business, he con
sults the chalked bulletin board In
stalled at home for daily instruc
tions the same as the kids do. Fam
ily conferences decide who does
what.
Early this year Casey brought up
the subject of mother Van Der
Bosch's scolding about being late
for dinner after she rang the bell.
"We've got to come down the
front stairs and walk clear back to
the dining room tn the rear. That's
awful far, he said.
Pate Idea
Casey suggested a fireman's pole
be placed between the floors of the
back porches. It would be a quick
slide to the dinner plate.
A few days later a fireman friend
had found one. Workmen cut a two-
foot square opening In the floor of
the second story porch and Installed
the brass pole. Every member of
the family uses 1U

PORTLAND. Oct. 13 m Mis
labeled milk and cream has cropped
out on the city market again, ac
cording to the state milk marketing
administration.
Administrator Thomas Ohlson
said distributors would be warned of
code violations. These may be fol
lowed by criminal complaints of
wilful Intent to defraud the public,
he said.
State Agriculture Director E. L.
Peterson said he may undertake a
cleanup of labeling practices In up
state communities. He said there is
no specific milk labeling law outside
of Portland, but many dealers vol
untarily label their product. Errors
could be prosecuted under the state
farm products labeling law, Peterson
reported.
