Vido Chair
And Tough
Day hr News
By Bil l. JKNKI.su
CCANNINO a magaiine the otiier
night I noticed an ad for a
television chair. A canny gadget
that doea Its best to make a theatre
of your video room. All of which
reminded me that I saw my first
television a couple of weeks ago.
Not. however, from a television
chair. Just from a plain couch m
a small establishment In Belmont,
Calif.
The den we were In very ob
viously drew the major portion of
Its trade from the sporting element,
so we had the opportunity to see
the faces of countless commenta
tors aa they gave forth on football,
baseball, track, hone races and
tennis. Television will never re
place the bleachera In my opinion.
Now I'm anxious to see something
different Just to find out what It
would look like. Opera, perhsps.
Or Fred Allen.

PEB Is still out on the deer trail, i
So far back In the hills he
couldn't send In a column today so '
I'll fill In wllh one more small !
Incident about the newspaper.
Saturday. Saturday Is a day of '
woe and travail around any news
paper office. In the first plsre
thing start closing down In the
East early In the morning and It
gets worse aa you come West. That
puts a holder on the amount of
wire newa that la produced. Then
things cut here start closing at
noon. Up and down the Pacific
coast factorlea close down for the
week-end, some stores close and
office workers take off for their
homes or for the country. Less
news. Market quotations are on a
different basis and come at dif
ferent times over the AP wire.
. . . ...... 1 nH A i4 I n t .... I , -It
jnuic vuiiiuaium. him . -, v ..
off everyone la pressing faster to
wind up the day because of the
week-end.
Our machines will only set typ
so fast, so we have to wait loi
them anyway. In short, quite s
muddle all the way around. Batur
day and Monday are the bad days
Monday because you have to pick
up the threads after a Bunds;
holiday. What Deb aald about dead
lines Is correct. It's like havuiK
a gun In your back all the time.
t ABU OF THANKS
We wish to express our sincere
appreciation to our many friends,
and especially to the Klamath Lake

T'S part of every street scene some
thing you sec every day.
Car owners in three different price
classes all happy about the same thing.
One of them drives a new Buick
SPECIAL, which you see poking forth
its new, bold-look forefront at the
left of our picture.
Another will tell you there's nothing
like the SUPER'S "happy medium" of
size and comfort, power and easy
handling, style and standing.
And if you're looking for prestige,
wherc-is your money going to buy so
much as in that handsome lS-footcr,
the ROADMASTER, with its 150-hp per
formance and really royal bearing?
But all these good folks get together
on this:
There's no ride quite so soft and
cushiony as the Buick ride, whatever
the size and series. There's no power
quite so satisfyingly lively as Buick's
high-compression, bigb-pressurt Fire
ball power.
Above all, there's no "buy" like a Buick
no car that gives you such a rich
dollar's worth of smartness, handling,
comfort and liveliness for every dollar
you pay.
So why not look the whole line over?
Your Buick dealer has these grand
travel-mates in a baker's dozen of
different body types and sizes. Start
your shopping in his showroom and
you'll find that even on delivery he
has exactly what you want.
