deer, Marvin Palmer bagged his
deer the first day of the season at
Durney's mill. It weighed 110
pounds. Jo DeLuca killed a 103
pound, four point buck, September
26 near Calahan. Lav Muzzier
bagged a alx-polnter. Mra. George
Llnvllle ahot a three-point buck
while hunting at Hotlum Saturday,
September 24. Thelma Williams got
a 160-pound buck September IS.

very serious accident while hunting.

when his gun went off and shot him
through the arm. He Is receiving
treatment In the Klamath Valley
hospital In Klamath Falls.
Tony Rlzzutto purchased a four

days ago.
On Saturday. September 24, a
youth rally was held In Mt. Shasta
st the Evangelistic tabernacle.

The board of directors of the Sis
kiyou County Tuberculosis and
Health association held Its regular
quarterly meeting In Yreka on
Tuesday evening. September 2
Twenty-five board members were
present and heard O. O. Steele re
port on the progress In securing
a TB. sanitarium. This sanitarium
Is to be constructed In Redding
within the next year and will take
care of 78 patients from lour coun
ties one of which will b Siskiyou
county.

The seventh and eighth grade
boys and girls of Sprague River
elementary school participated In
Uie county-wide play day at Mer
rill and Malln. Sevruk. director of
boys' physical education, took the
boys to Merrill, while Mrs. Blanche
Montgomery, who directs the girls'
physical activities, took a carload
of girls to Malln. Mrs. Silas Shep
herd also assisted In transporting
some of the girls.
Mrs. Helen Montgomery's first
grade pupils look the Detroit In
telligence test Thursdny, Septem
ber 21. The fourth grade, under
Mrs. Ine Ludwlck. and the eighth
grade, taught by Sevruk. took the
California mental mnturlty tests on
September 19 and 20.
The state required health testing
programa for eyes, height and
weight of puplla have been com
pleted at all grade levels by Uie
teachers.
The third, fourth, fifth, sixth,
seventh and eighth grades parti
cipate In a half-hour of commu
nity school singing every Friday
morning under the direction of
Mra. Ludwlck. Mra. Helen Mont
gomery accompanies them at the
piano.
The mid-morning milk program
for the first and second grades has
become Increasingly popular.
The seventh and eighth grade
girls, under the direction of Mrs.
Marian Sevruk, are working on the
cooking unit In home economics,
learning the preservation ol iruit,
and actual preparation of salads
and desserts.
