dent, missing at sea on a fishing
trip.

and his companion. Ed Brewer, a
retired Los Angelea businessman
recently living at Smith River.
Behorn Is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
John 6ehorn of 3114 La Verne.
The two men were last heard
from August 8 when Mrs. Sehorn
received a letter from her husband
from San Diego, telling hei ot their
plana to leave the following day on
deep aea fishing trip.
They recently purcnased a tuna
fishing cralt. "The Rainbow." and
obtained a 26-day permit to fish in
Mexican waters as well u on the
Southern California coast.
They were expected home the
first week in September, but no
word baa been received since the
August I letter.
Alarms have been flashed to all
points by the coast guard and sher
iff's office at Crescent City.
Sehorn and his wile, Ruth, and
two small children, have made their
home in Smith River the past three
yean where they operate Sehorn's
Fish market. Bremer also has a
wife and daughter living in Smith
River.
Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Phillips of
342 Commercial, parenta of Mrs. Se
horn have just returned home after
spending several days with their
daughter.

The St. Francla sub-station was
out when tree limbs involved the
distribution circuit. The Incident
occurred in the 4000 block on Cot
tage street starting at t p. ra. and
lasting for 10 minutes. At p. m.
the power went off for one hour.
In Lakeview Are
On the Lakeview circuit the line
went oat at 91:47 . m. when a
tree fell across the line on Quarts
mountain. High wind was the
cause. This caused an outage in
Lakeview for ST minutes: Bly.
8 Prague River and Beatty were
out for 3 hours 23 minutes: Bon
anza. Dairy, out for 2 hours I
minutea.
Before the Lakeview line could
be repaired, Copco lost the loop
around the eastern territory and
at t OS a. m. there waa another
out which caused power loea until
1 37 a. m. Tulelake was Involved
in this outage.
Towns people noticed bumps
throughout the late afternoon and
if their clocks were off IS minutes
this morning it waa because a wire
went down in the wind at Lake
view and Delta on the California
avenue circuit A falling limb was
the cause.
Power waa off on that circuit
from 11:32 to 11:47 p. m. but most
folks were in bed by that time.

The rice president attended a
birthday party for Mrs. Carle ton S.
Hadley Saturday night. Yesterday
they went to church together.
Mrs. Hadley s friends had specu
lated that the birthday party might
be the occasion for announcement
of the couple s engagement. But it
was not even known today whether
Berkley had liven Mrs. Hadley a
present.
He has made several trips to St.
Louis recently to see her.
Mrs. Hsdley. a widow, was at the
airport when the 71-year-old rice
president took off for Washington
late yesterday. She also met him on
his arrival Friday night.
Three Injured
In Wreck
A two-car crash at Orasa Lake,
60 miles southeast of here at mid
afte oon Sunday Injured three per
sons, one a Klamath Falls woman.
Cars were operated by Sam J.
Tallla, 62, Weed, and Edward Reed.
