PTA Rejects
Child Party,
Parade Idea
Presidents of local Parent-Teach-an
aaaoclatlona yesterday rejected
a plan proposed by the Moose lodge
to stage a parade and ooatumt
party for local achool children on
Halloween night.
PTA representatives decided to
continue their own Individual
parties, a haa been dona In put
years.
Sentiment waa against holding the
proposed Moose plan because of
transportation difficult! Involved,
and the fact of having children on
the streets lata at night.
Brick Leach, president of the Ore-
ton But Moose association, had
called the eonfab to obtain concert
ed opinion on the plan before deft
Bite steps were taken
Honor Day
teach told the assembly that the
Klamath Fall lodge waa thinking
ef sponsoring a Youth Honor Day In
in conjunction with a nationwide
Moose program to provide enter
tainment for children on Halloween.
Purpose of the program la to keep
down vandalism and provide wbole-
aeme enjoyment for the dues'
achool children.
A substitute plsn was proposed
by which the Moose lodge would
sponsor a costume parade and
dance for students of high achool
age.
At the same time It was thought
that local service organisation could
help PTA groups by promoting the
youth training program In the grade
schools.
Leach stated that his organisation
would be willing to help the Parent
Teachers In promoting their own
partlea, and that be would look Into
the feaaabllity of the other plan.
