Meets Again
MERRILL. Sept. 33 Merrill ,
nome extension unit will resume
monthly meetings after the summer
recess on Friday, September 10 at
3 p. m. In the recreation hall. This
first meeting will be a business
session only and no demonstration
ls planned. All interested women
are urged to attend and to bring
their p re-school children a ar
rangement have been made to take
care of them.

man of the local group, and Mrs.
Eber Kilpatrlck. a member of he
stale council, attended the leaders
training meeting which waa held

retaries of all units In Klamath
county attended, and plans for tha
year were outlined. At this meeting
Mrs. Kilpatrlck gave a most inter
esting report on her recent attend
ance at a state council session.
The local unit will meet on the
second Friday of each month, and
all meetings will b held In the
afternoon, with the definite plac
being announced later.

Dr. Seth M. Kerron accepted a
Dew portable mine safety appliance
pneophore with nebulisec Wednes
day on behalf of the Klamath coun
ty public health department from
Mrs. Evrrett Hotchkiss who made
the presentation for the American
Lesion auxiliary.
The Pneophore with nebulizer will
be kept at the health unit where It
will be available to all residents of
Klamath county for treatment of
serious respiratory Infections.
The pneophore, called the plastic
nose, is a new, highly effective In
strument to aid In effecting artifi
cial respiration and respiratory In
fections such as In cases of pollo
mvelitis. bronchial asthma, chronic
bronchitis, pneumonia, heart cases
and other respiratory cases.
A subscription dnve sponsored by
the Legion suxiliary msde purchase
of the pneophore possible and It Is
a needed piece ot equipment In the
ccmmunity.
Cut Indian's
Condition OK
Castine Hunt. '.O-year-old Klam
ath Indian, was reported In good
condition today at Klamath Valley
hospital where he is receiving treat
ment for a long cut on his chest.
Chiloquin police said Hunt re
ceived his Injury last night dunni
a "family beef" at his home in
Chiloquin. He was believed to have
been struck with an axe.
No arrests hsd been msde this
morning In connection with the
fray. Hunt was brought to the hos
pital late last night by Kaler's am

Ates Here Tonight
I Roscoe Ates of Hollywood, come
dian who performed here during
the state Elks convention In June,
will appear before the Klamath
Palls Moose lodge tonight following
the g o'clock Initiation.
The affair will take place in the
Moose hall. Ates is en route to
Yakima. Wash., to fill a speaking
engagement.

night will be observed at the next
meeting of Merrill grange 717 next

commerce for the good-will trip to
Canby and Alturas Friday, prepar
