"Apostles" Doctrine and Fellowship"
'Declaring unto you the testimony of God" . . . "Preaching only Jesus Christ, and
Him crucified" . . . "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" ...
No book is authority but the Word of God.
THK world-wide fellowship of Christian brethren worshipping under the name
"Church of Christ" the Christian church dates Its existence from April, A. D. 33.
It was called Into being and activity by the Lord Jesus. Himself, and wss directed
to proceed tn the execution of Its -commission" (Matthew 38: 19-20) on the Day of
Pentecost, ten days after the Lord's return to Heaven. L - His ascension. In His high
priestly intercessory prayer, of John 17. Jesus prays for the unity of His followers "that
' they all may be one: as thou. Father, art In me. and I In thee, that they also may be
one In us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." Thus Jesus makes plain
that the world's acceptance of Christ and true Christianity Is contingent on the unity
of the church.
Fellow Christians. In Klamath Falls, and everywhere, should we deem It a thing
Incredible that the followers of Jesus Christ. In this highly favored country, should re
sume that original peace, purity, and unity, which belong to the constitution, and alone
constitute the glory of the Body of Christ. His church, on earth? Is there anything
necessary for the accomplishing of this desirable purpose but to conform to the model
and adopt the practices of the primitive New Testament church, expressly exhibited In
the New Testament? Whatever alterations such procedure might produce in any or all
churches, should, we believe, be deemed neither Inadmissible nor Ineligible.
The Seven Essentia! I'nltles of The New Testament Church as Recorded In
Epheaians 4:1-, are:
1 I'nlty of WORSHIP because there Is ONE GOD.
1 Inlly of AUTHORITY because there is ONE LORD CHRIST.
3 Unity of PRACTISE because there la ONE BAPTISM.
4 Unity of PREACHING because there ta ONE FAITH.
5 Unity of ORGANIZATION because there la ONE BOOT.
Unity of LIFE because there la ONE SPIRIT.
7 Unity of PURPOSE because there t ONE HOPE.
This blessed passage from God's Word contains every essential for Christian Unity.
True catholicity rests alone in the Christ of the ages and the church which bears
His Nsme. and obeys His orders. The Church of Christ Is of necessity non-Protestant,
non-Catholic non-Episcopal, non-Reformed, non-Ecclesiastical, non-Denominational.
None of these things are known in Holy Writ, and are necessarily of man's devising.
Three centuries before the organisation of any sectarian bodies, and through the rising
and falling of thousands of religious parties the Church of Christ continues to herald
the Lord's message of sslvation: "Ye must be born again." "Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ. "Repent, and be baptised every one of you In the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins."
A major evangelistic campaign is In progress at the Klamath Falls Christian Church
setting forth the principles of New Testament Christianity, the basis of Christian unity,
and teachings of our fundamental hop of Immortality, based on the teachings and
sacrifice of tha Bon of God, as our Savior. The evangelists are Mr. and Mrs. James
Matthew Alley, nationally known, and eminently successful New Testament teachers,
expositors, and interpreters of New Testament truths. Services nightly except Saturday.
