gain basement, but actually it
waa only the vault In the police
department of the city hall being,
cleared out yesterday.
And with the discovery of the
suspenders, one of the oldest
mysteries in Klamath police his
tory was cleared up, though by
the time they were discovered, all
of the stretch was long gone from
the galluses.
' It seems that the suspenders
disappeared some years ago, and
ever since there have been sus
picions and suspects. The s u s
penders were wrapped aa a
Christmas present, and the pretty
package waa discovered yester
day during the vault clean-up.
The records (and other mis
cellaneous apparatus) are being
stored in a small room up under
the belfry of the city hall.

"Miner" Cronin. who died Thurs

church in that city.

small boys were taken over by Ju
venile authorities today after ' the
two were found living alone In their
suburban house. The boys Duane
O. Barnes, 11, and Ira Ear) Bamea
Jr, 5 said their father had gone
away two days ago and their moth
er had vanished. The boys were
living on vegetables from neigh
bor's gardens.

A lawsuit asking $15,000 damage
has been filed for circuit court ac
tion by Oeorge Howe, Pelican City
district. In connection with an in
Jury received March 3 at a com
mercial truck scale.
The scale is located at the Sun

by Warren C. Bennet and operated
on leas by Mike Howry.
Howe received an Injury to his
right leg and knee when he atepped
from his truck after driving It onto
the weighing platform.' He assert

Clay Vernon Frailer. 33. of Port
land, was fined a total of 310 this
morning in Justice court after
pleading guilty to charges af drunk
driving and having no operators
license.
He was arrested late last night
by state police on highway ft.
Henry Lee Black. 40, Altamont
ramp, yesterday afternoon waa giv
en a 30-day suspended sentence by
Justice of the Peace J. A. Mshoney
on a charge of disorderly conduct.
The complaint against Black was
signed by Wilms Graves who said
the man threatened her with a
knife.

The Malin awlmming pool and
park area will remain open over
the Labor Day week-end, according
to word from that town.
Hours for the pool will be from
one to nine pm. Saturday, Sunday
and Monday. From T u e s d s y
through Friday. September t. the

eight pm. and September 10 and
11 the hours will be one to nine.
The picnic area and park grounds
are also open to all visitors who

badly and painfully bruised. Smith
miraculously escaped more serious
injury to his arm. The accident
happened Friday afternoon.
Huston suffered painful injuries
this morning when an air cylinder
he waa working on exploded. Ex
tent of his hurts haa not yet been
determined, although his left hand
was seriously injured.
