former state penitentiary guard who
chanced to go by a tavern here
nabbed two eacaiied convict yester
day. Cleorge Thomson. PorUsnd. who
also was formerly a state police
men recognised Uie two as trusties
who walked away from the atale
prison farm at Salem Sunday.
He borrowed a gun. went into Uie
tavern and arrested Uie two. He
turned them over to state police.
The convicts Karl Junior Bon
ney and Vernon Mrlvin (leorge
said they also recognised Thomson,
but thought he did not remember
them. They did not resist.
They went to the Lincoln county
Jail at Toledo, pending transfer to
the penitentiary.

Miss Bullard termed the course "a
very valuable project In furthering
International understanding and
discussing problems affecting Inter

chairman of the recreation commit
tee at the seminar and secretary of
the academic committee.
A graduate of Klamath Union
high school, Mlsa Bullard this fall
begin her Junior year at Reed
