Nineteen hundred fifty allot
ments for Individual farms were
recently mailed to farm owners
end operators announced Burrell
Short, chairman of the Klamath
county agricultural conservation as
sociation. These allotments repre
sent each farm's share of the na
tional wheat acreage allotment of
68 9 million acres, which w-as es
tablished by th secretary of agri
culture under the provisions of th
agricultural adjustment act of IMS. j
Under the act. the national al
lotment Is the acreage which will
produce enough wheat, at average
yields, to make the total supply of
wheat equal to a normal year's do
mestic consumption and export
plus a reserve of 30 per cent.
Each farmer who plants within j
his acreage allotment will be en- I
titled to full price support on hi
wheat. However. If a farmer over-
seeds his allotment, he will not be
entitled to price support on any
wheat which he produces, says Mr.
Short.
Any wheat farmer who has rea
son to believe thst he has Just
grounds and can offer facts to
substantiate his claim, may file an
appeal for reconsideration of the
allotment. This appeal must be in
writing and filed within 15 days
of the time the notice of allotments
was mailed.
