past month with prices unchanged
to a cent higher, the department
of agriculture reported Tuesday.
The monthly report said demand
was lessening with grower holding
out for U cents a pound for seed
ed hops with t per cent leaf and

A few contract were reported
for delivery after harvest at 53
cent for fuggle and S3 cent for
lata dusters.
A crop of around 100.000 bales

dealer sued yesterday for 415 000
on a charge that he sold a res
taurant ground horsemeat as ground
beef, answered today with a 140000
suit alleging that the claim was
false and designed to destroy his
reputation.
Talmadge P. Staley. president and
general manager of Holgate Farms.
Inc.. filed the 440.000 suit today
against the proprietors of Wiggle
Inn. southeast district restaurant.
Yesterday their suit alleged that his
firm sold horsemeat to them. They
paid a 1100 fine In municipal court
for sale of unlabeled horsemeat.
Staleys suit asked 625.000 for
damage to his reputation and 115.000
punitive damages.
