wham he was Jolted off the stoop.

steam was pouring from a cold water
faucet.
"Stand back!" he warned his wife
and children. "This calls for an

The local housing authority repair

should have blown a fuse, he said,
but didn't because a clip holding the

Catholics Defy
Czech Orders

defied an order by Czechoslovakia's
communist government and conse
crated two new bishops yesterday.
The government order prohibits
such ceremonies unless prior gov
ernment approval Is obtained. It al
so prohibits pilgrimages to the cere
monies. A large crowd attended,
however, d e s p 1 1 1 a government
transport blockade.

Rocket Tested

Firemen Busy
Over Sunday,
Little Damage
The city fire department was busy
answering three calls Sunday, two
of which were on Addison street.
At 13:50 p. m. the red truck made
a run to the corner of Addison and
Warden streets, where it rcolrd off a
grass fire with no damage sustained.
Again at 1:45 the fire wagon
rushed to Addison street, tills time
to the 400 block, and another grass
fire was quelled. No damage was
suffered here either.
The third blare took place at 30
a. m. 8unday. at BM Riverside street,
and waa handled by crews of the
Klamath Forest Protective associa
tion. The fire was Just outside the
city limits, and for awhile threat
ened to move In on a building, but
was finally controlled without dam.
