been sued for damages by Trainer
Harry Howe, given a 80-day sus
pension two weeks ago on charge
of doping a race horse.
In bringing his suit yesterday.
Howe accused the associauon of
libeling him and causing him a
heavy loss in earnings. The amount
of damages he asked was not dls
closed.
His suspension followed a report
by the Royal Canadian mounted
police that a Howe-trained mare,
Mabel II, had b-n given a stimu
lant before winning the second race
at Exhibition park last July 28.

The lefthander hurled shutout ball for six Innings, although ho
