price changes today. For the most part the trend was a little lower,
although a mild rally got under may shortly before the close and
sent some contracts above the previous close.
There was some profit-taking following yesterday's price run-up,
particularly In May wheat. Cash wheat prices were slightly easier in
the northwest and southwest.
Wheat closed S lower to higher. September $2.05s-,. corn
was Vs-11. higher. September $l-26;-l-27, oau were lower to V.
higher, September e-'. rye was v.-!1. higher. September tl.U.
soybeans were I to IS higher, November M37 -3 38. and lard was i

The Negro, Lewis West, was sen
tenced to one year and 11 raonth
in federal prison yesterday by Fed
eral Judge John, W. Holland. He
pleaded guilty to forging endorse
ments on four government checks
touting 1100.
Secret service agent said West
simply marked an "x" on the backs
of the checks which he told them
he obtained from , mall box at the
address where he lived.
He then persuaded neighborhood
merchant to cash the checks for
him by telling them he wa unable
to read or write, the agent said.
