Two day earlier another Inmate,
Alfred HUtchford. it. was found
hanging from the door of the "bull
pen" where he had been locked up
with several other prisoner. His
death, a coroners Jury held alter
10 hours' deliberation, was a suU'ide.
Both victims had been strangled
by cloth strips from torn nmttress
covers.
Other men In the cell with Blatch

None had raised an outciy over
his death. The group In the large
tank Included several minors chanted
with drunkenness.

Gives Books
Officers of Quota club Wednesday
presented to the county Juvenile
home the first books of the Quota
Memorial, la memory of Mabel
Randall.
Joy Rolph. president of Quota,
made the presentation to Faye
Blackmer, deputy Juvenile officer.
Selection of the 35 books for both
boys and girls wu made under the
direction of Mrs. Blackmer. They
range all the way from picture books
for small tots, to those suitable for
teen-agers. The books have been
placed on library shelves of the rec
reation room, which Quota club fur
nished last year. Additional books
will be added to the Quota Memorial
from time to time.
