MEET JIM THOMPSON, STAR FARMER
Jim Thompson of Salem was Star Farmer of America in
1942. In high school he ran a 120-acre ranch, starting by
purchasing 50 acres. Sheep, hogs and cowi brought him

title is his Oregon Bankers' Association trophy. After FFA
