are still In port today and fishing
companies still are Insisting they
will not sanction boats they own or
charter to sell to "pirate buyers."
The fishermen, who normally
head north the first week in July,
aeek permission to sell their catches
to the highest bidder. Ram of mini
mum prices for fish already have
been settled.
The United Fisherman's and Al
lied Worker's union seeks an ar
rangement where, even though
working on company - owned or
chartered boats, that fishermen may
sell to the highest bidder even if
the firm for which they work offers
a lower price.
