ath Falls. He was back of several
hit productions shown here also
and has watched the progress of
the town with Interest through a
couple of decade.
Mrs. Beardsley. playwright. Is the
write of a Malm rancher and mother
of three small boy. Jack Beards-
ley Is stage manager and set direc
tor of the Hollywood Turnabout
theatre between farming his Mahn
ranch.

Costs Down
WASHINGTON. June V-The
atomic energy commission said
Tuesday that the unit cost of "pro
ducing1 uranium-235, a major com
ponent of the atomic bomb, has
decreased SO per cent since January
1, 1947, at the Oak Ridge, Term,
plant.
This reduction In unit cost Is
the equivalent of savings of 122.000.-
000 a year, the AEC said In
statement.
The AEC added that Carbide and
Carbon Chemicals corporation. Oak
Ridge contractor, had reduced its
employe during the period from
671S to 4430 at the gaseous diffusion
plant.
The 4430 are producing more
TJ-235. the AEC said, than did J5.0O0
production workers employed at all
three production facilities at Oak
Ridge m early phases of the atomic
program.
The statement was made public
as the Joint senate-house atomic
committee entered it fifth week of
bearing charges of -Incredible mis
management" made against the

by the Rev. Edward Dahmus, pastor
of the Catholic church at nearby
St. Libory, who said he personally

priest declined to describe what he
has observed.
"After we became aware of the
spirit," Oreten said, "we laid down
a pencil and a piece of paper and
asked In writing, 'What do you
want?' the penal Just flew across
the room.
"W got out pen and Ink." Oreten
continued. -The bottle of ink moved
over the floor and spilled on the
rug. Father Dahmus told us to try
an indelible pencil. That night the
pencil wrote out the word mass.'
"Father Dahmus then wrote, 'Are
you a good or evil sptritr The pencil
was hurled at him. Then he said tt
must be an evil spirit."
Oreten expressed belief there Is
some connection between the "spirit"
